Full Name: Joshua Otis “Josh” Turner

Born: November, 1977

Hometown: Hannah, South Carolina

Bio: Josh Turner started out singing in church as he started a quartet called the “Thankful Hearts.” Francis Marion University was his first college that he attended. Soon after he transferred to Belmont University to get his career started in Nashville.

Turner ended up getting a gig at the Grand Ole Opry, where he got a standing ovation to his new song “Long Black Train.” This also ended up being the name of his debut in 2003 called “Long Black Train.” This was the start of almost a decade of successful albums listed below:

  • Your Man – 2006
  • Everything is Fine – 2007
  • Haywire – 2010
  • Punching Bag – 2012

Josh Turner has been on hiatus since 2012 with new albums. He has talked about the business aspect of the industry putting his new album on hold. He expects to release his new one in early 2016. Since his start, he has had a few awards to back up his decade journey thus far including:
