On July 30th, 1955 recordings of: “Folsom Prison Blues, Luther Played The Boogie, and So Doggone Lonesome” we’re made.

Folsom Prison Blues was not only a huge hit for Cash, it is also one of the most iconic songs ever.

Even within the Country music realm, there will be no other like the man in black, however, some can try.

This song had a style of the train song and the prison song, which Cash went to use as his artist sound.

The live version of this song made it to number 1 on the Country charts in 1968.

This live version also was recorded amongst the inmates at the actual Folsom Prison.
