Jason Aldean shares story behind ‘Lights Come On’ in recent interview about the explosive lead single.

The song originated from Florida Georgia Line writing it, and sending it to Jason after their record, as he states:

Lights come on was a song that FGL actually emailed me, we were cuttin’ the last songs from the album.

They just finished recording their album, and this was a song they had written after their record.

Aldean also knew this was the song to lead off the album as he states:

“I pulled my producer out of the studio, and said we gotta get everybody to stay another hour and lets cut this song.”

In an effort to get the single out, the song was also at radio desks in 3-4 weeks.
