With the chart topping albums being produced yearly by Church now, may not represent his long struggle to the top. He gigged for the first time in high school which led to his own band “Mountain Boys” in college. Graduating with a business degree, it was clear Church went for the backup route of having a steady job instead of hitting the road in the beginning. However Nashville was still on his mind and moved with the help of his father.
Church ended up co-writing “The World Needs a Drink” by Terri Clark to give him a push towards respect from Nashvilles songwriting community. After plenty of influence from multiple producers, He then signed with Capitol Records Nashville.
